About The Position

Must-Have : Telemetry / step-down experience required

Description :

The role involves providing care to patients in a telemetry / step-down unit.

Daily patient ratios will be 1 : 4-5.

Every other weekend is required.

Candidates should have experience with cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and managing cardiac drips (no titration).

Experience with post-cardiac angiograms, post-myocardial infarction, and pre / post-cardiac catheterization is essential.

Knowledge of EKG and cardiac drips management is required.

Special procedures may include cardiac catheterization, pacemaker / AICD placement, and echocardiograms.

The ideal candidate will have experience with treadmill stress tests, nuclear stress tests, and cardiac MRI / CT.

Candidates should be familiar with cardioversion / ablation and carotid Doppler procedures.

The daily census in this unit averages around 23 patients.

Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Patients will primarily be adults with diagnoses including CHF, arrhythmias, ACS, heart valve disease, and more.

Candidates should expect to float within the hospital as needed.
