Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Penn Yan, NY (Zip : 14527) – New York healthcare facility

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Med / Surg unit

Unit : Medical / Surgical – 1st Acute

Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a), every other weekend & holidays

On-call : 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period

Open Positions : 2 Med / Surg RN jobs available

Floating : May be required to float as needed within the healthcare facility

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1830 - $1960

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med / Surg RN or Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a clinical setting

Assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Provide direct patient care, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as necessary

Develop and utilize specialized skills in cardiac care and telemetry monitoring

Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with infection prevention protocols

Foster teamwork, delegate tasks appropriately, and support positive change within the Med / Surg unit
