Utilities One is a company that delivers a full range of infrastructure solutions for Telecommunications providers, Electric Utilities, Wireless Carriers, and Engineering companies in the US Market.
We are looking for a Vendor Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have ownership of the vendor sourcing and onboarding, managing current vendor relationships and increasing company resources to deliver on projects delivery. You will be responsible for assessing vendor capabilities, vendor onboarding, and answering vendor inquiries and requests. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who wants to learn and grow.
Responsibilities :
- Key Responsibilities
- Subcontractor Management
- Assist in the qualification, selection, and ongoing management of subcontract fabrication partners.
- Frequently visit subcontractor facilities to monitor project progress, review quality standards, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Create and maintain subcontractor fabrication schedules, capacity forecasts, and progress / quality reports.
- Project Coordination & Documentation
- Serve as the Company Representative for project documentation, scheduling, and QC / NDE records.
- Act as liaison between business development, customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams during the drawing approval process.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and provide status updates.
- Verify subcontractor material receipts and ensure Material Test Reports (MTRs) are in line with approved drawings.
- Facilitate and attend customer QC inspections at subcontractor facilities.
- Quality & Delivery Assurance
- Perform QC inspections on all products to confirm compliance with QC / NDE requirements prior to shipment.
- Ensure job data books are compiled and delivered per customer requirements.
- Perform field meetings and inspections when necessary.
- Financial & Administrative Coordination
- Collaborate with Accounting to confirm progress billing and completion milestones.
- Support the business development team with cost estimating and verification of customer specifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical field preferred (relevant technical experience may substitute).
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in production, product management, quality control, purchasing, or inventory management.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite; ERP / production planning systems experience is a plus.
- Desired Skills and Background
- Experience with fabricated / engineered products , including design, tooling, and production processes.
- Prior exposure to the Energy, Utilities, or Telecommunications industries preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems .
- Familiarity with health & safety best practices .
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies .
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
