Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team and will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and financial reporting. This position requires someone with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.

Support the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including journal entries, variance analyses, and post-close reporting.

Conduct inventory accounting by managing product setups, maintaining bills of materials, updating annual product costs, performing capping analyses, and reconciling physical inventory counts.

Maintain detailed records for specialized accounts to assist with year-end audits.

Reconcile operational bank accounts monthly and confirm bank reconciliations.

Oversee accounts payable processes, including coding invoices, securing approvals, and issuing checks.

Perform monthly account reconciliations and allocations while maintaining balance sheet integrity.

Take on additional duties as needed to support the finance team.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

1+ year of relevant accounting experience including direct experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related practices.

Analytical abilities with a keen eye for identifying trends and resolving discrepancies.

A high degree of attention to detail with the ability to deliver polished work.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other essential tools like Word and Windows-based systems.

Strong critical thinking and independent judgment.
