Position Summary
The Caregiver is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to residents in an assisted living environment. This position supports residents in maintaining dignity, independence, and quality of life while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating.
Provide companionship, emotional support, and engage residents in meaningful activities.
Assist with medication reminders in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to supervisory staff.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and follow established care plans.
Support residents with meals, hydration, and special dietary needs as directed.
Assist with light housekeeping and laundry tasks related to resident care.
Ensure a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for all residents.
Respond promptly to resident needs and emergency situations.
Collaborate with coworkers, nurses, and leadership to promote resident well-being.
Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and professional standards of care.
Qualifications
Previous caregiving or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to resident care.
Must pass background check and fingerprint testing.
Work Environment
Assisted living community setting.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Interaction with residents, families, visitors, and staff on a daily basis.
