Apply locations Florida Tech Main Campus Melbourne time type Full time posted on Posted 10 Days Ago job requisition id R6908 The Computational Analyst will support advanced research and data analysis through the development, optimization, and application of computational tools and workflows. This role bridges domain expertise and high-performance computing, enabling researchers and decision-makers to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. In addition to computational development, the role includes responsibilities in IT technical support and server administration to ensure a robust and efficient computing environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to design and implement computational workflows and data pipelines.
  • Analyze large datasets using statistical, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or simulation-based methods.
  • Optimize and parallelize software for performance on HPC or cloud computing platforms.
  • Provide technical consultation and training to research teams on computational best practices.
  • Develop scripts and tools for automation, data processing, visualization, and reporting.
  • Document processes, code, and methodologies for reproducibility and training.
  • Stay up to date on emerging tools and technologies in scientific computing and data science.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and troubleshooting of computational environments.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of servers, storage systems, and networked resources.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's in a computational or quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Go, Java, Matlab, or C / C++.
  • Experience with Linux / Windows systems and job schedulers like SLURM or HTCondor.
  • Experience with data analysis libraries and tools like Jupiter Notebook, Grafana, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, NetCDF, HDF, or OpenFoam.
  • Experience with AI / ML libraries and tools like NVIDIA Omniverse, NVIDIA Triton Inference Server, NVIDIA NeMo, PyTorch, ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, Ollama, or Hugging Face.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with CUDA GPU programming or MPI / MPICH / OpenMP parallel computing.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or container technologies (Docker, Apptainer, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge in a scientific domain such as biology, chemistry, physics, or engineering.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Work Environment :

  • On-site work is required.
  • Interaction with faculty, researchers, and technical staff in a collaborative environment.
  • Occasional travel to conferences, training sessions, or partner institutions.

    Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

    The numbers provided include crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

    The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures, descriptions of prevention and awareness programs, related university procedures and important guidance, and other essential safety information.

    Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.
