Duties / Responsibilities

Duties / Responsibilities

Trapping and tagging bobwhites using baited walk-in funnel traps. A) This includes clearing trap sites, pre-baiting, and baiting of trap sites, checking traps daily and processing captured quail. B) Process quail by attaching a leg band to all individuals, and collaring a subset of individuals with radio tags.

Duties / Responsibilities

Tracking bobwhites using radio-telemetry. A) Track all collared quail 2-3 times per week to mark their locations and locate nests to monitor for success or failure.

Vegetation surveys and equipment maintenance. A) Complete vegetation surveys where quail are tracked. B) Equipment maintenance (includes all research equipment and UTVs and trucks).

Duties / Responsibilities

Travel around field sites. A) Field Technician will use a sponsor-provided truck and UTV to travel around the field site when necessary. Housing will be provided.
