ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas RN license or Compact State Licensure

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

ICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to a diverse ICU patient population

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and assist with exams and treatments in the intensive care unit

Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and recovery expectations

Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records

Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Administer medications, perform clinical procedures, and manage emergencies as needed

Advocate for patients and families, ensuring patient rights and safety are respected

Participate in unit initiatives and serve as charge nurse or preceptor as needed
