Responsibilities Work on a 32-bed Medical Ortho Med / Surg unit within a hospital setting, increasing to 37 beds in January 2025 Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM Required to float first within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (IN) and Deaconess Henderson (KY) campuses, with 2-hour notice for cross-campus float Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday required EMR charting with recent Epic experience required, checkoff class to be completed Patient population includes a mix of medical and surgical individuals, including confusion / BH / CIWA, CHF, COPD, UTI, cellulitis, sepsis, amputations, decubitis ulcers, and general surgeries Basic telemetry skills required Role may involve precepting students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital environment Team enjoys strong leadership, with experienced charge nurses and a collaborative culture Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos No COVID-19 vaccine requirement at this time, subject to change Not accepting local candidates within a 40-mile radius of the facility Termination possible after three call-ins Hard-working, resilient, and social candidates are desired Requirements Active IN or compact state RN license required Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum two years of strong Med / Surg experience and completion of at least one travel assignment required Trauma level II experience required Must pass a basic dysrhythmia exam Experience with IV fluid / antibiotic therapies, medical / post-surgical assessment, heparin drips, wounds / wound vacs, and basic tele required Recent Epic EMR experience required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622405.
