Must have 2 years of nursing experience.

Experience working with tracheostomy patients is required.

Description :

This unit features 23 step-down beds and 16 medical-surgical beds.

The day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians.

The night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians.

Patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 for step-down and 1 : 4-6 for medical-surgical.

Equipment used on the unit includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and trachs.

The electronic medical record system is Cerner.

Typical procedures performed on this unit include tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes.

Ideal candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a high level of clinical competence.

Weekend shifts may be required, with up to 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period.

This position is created as a contractor replacement.
