GENERAL SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position is to assure the throughput goals of the organization are  met by managing the overall material flow and scheduling of resources in the shop while ensuring  employee safety, on-time delivery to the customer (internal and external), improving  communication, reducing product lead-times, and Improving inventory accuracy. This position is  responsible for productivity in the Fabrication, Welding, Paint, and Assembly departments.

Includes scheduling of work, assisting with employee selection, reviewing employee performance.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will implement continuous improvement initiatives; recommend  equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, and process modifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Align with Leadership Team on plant throughput goals and set weekly plans that meet throughput goal
  • Assure obstacles that put weekly plans at risk are addressed
  • Research Open Lines Reports to find out the "why and where", if gaps exist and if expedites are needed.
  • Reschedule jobs to match current priorities, internal supplies, and external supplies so product flow and dispatch lists are accurate.
  • Facilitate daily meetings with internal production management to maximize daily production and efficiencies to meet customer and sales goals.
  • Improve workflow and response time to meet customer demands.
  • Improve order fulfillment capability by evaluating manufacturing lead times.
  • Work with Customer Service to ensure that shipments are being delivered on time and meeting customer expectations.
  • Manage plant activities in designated area to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Establish and monitor performance for production and quality standards. Control and minimize expenses.
  • Responsible for training, developing, motivating, and appraising the performance of all subordinates. Initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures. Resolves complaints effectively to maintain harmonious employee relations.
  • Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement.
  • Actively participate on the plant safety committee and support all company safety objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree in Management is preferred,  with 3+ years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; or 5 years related experience
