P&C Partner, Refining Supply & Midstream role at bp .

ROLE SYNOPSIS : Responsible for supporting employees and line managers within our Refining Supply & Midstream business, defining and delivering the people plan that enables the business to achieve its goals, with engaged, high-performing teams. Provides People & Culture (P&C) support for a broad spectrum of activities based on advanced experience in this field and skilled judgement, ensuring consistent and effective delivery of P&C initiatives and projects in line with local legislation, BP policy and best practice.

Team and scope : The role operates as a member of leadership teams across 4 businesses (refining supply, commercial logistics, global pricing, and midstream strategy), acting as a strategic business partner providing business-driven insights to support decision making and determine appropriate global / business-wide interventions. They also coach the team, champion team effectiveness, values & behaviours, and leadership expectations. This role is based in Chicago and supports the supply, trading & shipping business entity, home to our refining supply & midstream, gas, power, refining and products trading, and shipping businesses.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

People fundamentals

  • Deliver reliable, compliant, and secure HR operations in support of the business
  • Ensure health, safety & duty of care for our people
  • Provide analytics and insights to make robust people and business decisions
  • Provide business-facing HR consultation and advice to senior leadership; facilitate resolution of everyday queries; coach to drive engagement; pre-empt and resolve employee relations (ER) cases; ensure diversity and inclusion are embedded in the P&C plan and all people management activity
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business and the people they support
  • Partner with other P&C advisors and Centers of Expertise to define product outcomes, activity prioritization, employee development, performance management, coaching, etc.
  • Leverage best practices and identify efficiencies and synergies by connecting across P&C teams
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with safety and ethics rules and bp values & behaviours

    Essential Education

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other relevant field.

    Essential Experience and Job Requirements

    Usually requires at least 10 years of experience in Human Resources, with proven capability in strategic talent management, ER, change management, and organizational development. Strong leadership, coaching, and ability to apply business acumen to drive results. Experience in working in a matrixed organization and knowledge of local labor legislation and regulations.

    Desirable Criteria

    Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, design thinking); professional HR certifications; MBA or Master’s degree relevant to Human Resources.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Base salary range : $127,000–$182,000. This position is eligible for US benefits, including core benefits, vacation allowance, paid holidays, and retirement benefits. See Core U.S. Benefits for details.

    Travel and Work Arrangement

    Travel up to 10%; Remote / Hybrid work arrangement in Chicago.
