QUALITY TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY
The primary mission of this position is to help maintain the Quality Assurance Program relative to the production of armor products and includes activities related to setting and maintaining quality standards aligned with all appropriate regulations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Technician handles a wide variety of situations and is primarily responsible conducting Quality Assurance (QA) for armor manufacturing to include the following responsibilities :
GENERAL AUDITING & COMPLIANCE
- Inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished materials to include first article inspections and reporting, as required. Utilize Hardwire Production Database to log required inspection activities.
- Review and approve components and armor products to ensure proper quality and compliance standards are met.
- Promote reduction in process variation, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Review analytical results, protocols, reports and other documents as required.
- Investigate and resolve all routine quality issues identified during process or document reviews.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Maintain Quality Control equipment and gauge calibration programs to include internal calibration, scheduling of external calibration, and updating eMaint software, as necessary.Perform internal and external compliance audits, including focused and general audits of Operations and Quality Assurance areas against standards and ensure resolution of any identified issues.QUALITY RECORDS
Review batch records and provide disposition (approval, rejection, etc.) to the armor material produced to ensure that all steps have been performed and verified where applicable, that all limits and specifications have been met and the raw materials and solutions have been tested and released.Ensure any deficiencies or deviations are shared with appropriate personnel through generation of Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR), Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) or Deviation Requests.OTHER
Work with manufacturing group to optimize production processes including problem resolution and any necessary training.Provide support for design, manufacturing, and product launch efforts.Assist with coordination and disposition of RMAs (supplier and customer).Production, technical, and administrative duties as assigned.Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other key quality equipment to evaluate product conformance.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.Ability to work independently and meet critical timelines.Proficient in interpreting and implementing appropriate regulations and laws.Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing setting and to easily adapt to changing situations.Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with peers, management, and external contacts.Excellent working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Project and Excel.Working knowledge of fundamental technical and quality concepts and applicable guidelines for ISO 9001, ANSI and other related standards.Proven understanding of manufacturing environment is preferred.Benefits for Full Time Employees

Quality assurance, quality control and / or compliance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Demands
Required to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
Work Environment
Work performed in a combination of manufacturing and office environment. Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils.
