Overview Designer at Floor & Decor. Provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Responsible for meeting with customers, listening to project needs, educating them on requirements, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customer\'s personal style, lifestyle, and budget.
Pay Range
$17.25 - $25.75
Responsibilities Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store
Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with high accuracy, timeliness and follow-up; maintain clear communication with customers and team; use company communication tools effectively
Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals
Support company initiatives and model best practices with store employees
Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
Understand and utilize design applications (e.g., Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject)
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Eligibility Requirements Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail / sales experience
Design degree is a plus
Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
Proficient in basic mathematical skills
Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Working Conditions Limited travel may be required by car
Exposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy noise level
Physical / Sensory Requirements Medium work capacity : able to lift 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or more as needed; use hands and fingers; may stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, crouch or crawl as part of duties.
Store Hours Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 8 : 00 PM
Saturday 8 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM
Sunday 10 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM
