Maintenance Technician

Manatee County Government is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Public Works department. The position is full-time and hourly, with a salary range of $20.68 - $38.34 per hour. The job is based in Bradenton, FL.

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and construction activities in the multi-functional operations of the Manatee County highway and storm water systems. This includes working on infrastructure construction projects such as roads, storm drains, and bridges, while following all established safety standards and procedures.

The work locations include 1108 26th Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34208; 8500 69th Street East, Palmetto, Florida 34221; and 36650 Arcadia Avenue, Myakka City, Florida 34251. The work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm. The expected starting hourly range is $20.68 - $40.25.

Note : Job title and salary will be determined based on experience and skill level. The working conditions include indoor / outdoor situations, performing strenuous work in varying and adverse weather conditions, traversing uneven or rugged terrain, and a high noise environment while performing certain responsibilities. Lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. alone; up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Regularly required to drive county vehicles as part of the duties of the job. Able to climb and descend equipment and ladders. Able to bend, stoop, crawl, and reach. Position requires visual acuity and depth perception, as well as ability to hear and identify sounds.
