Regional Transportation Organization, North America Contractor / Part-time

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Regional Transportation Organization (RTO) partner in New Brunswick, NJ. The RTO partners with J&J to deliver innovative capabilities, services and compliance leadership across all sectors while we develop future leaders and transportation expertise for the company.

The RTO co-ops / interns will collaborate with business partners, suppliers and internal team members to lead improvement initiatives as related to all aspects of transportation management. This position will involve much interaction with internal J&J customers and external transportation providers at all levels of their respective organizations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support major RTO projects through data analysis (i.e. Operating Company initiatives, reports, databases, etc.). Provide recommendations to project teams based on analysis
  • Maintain databases used by RTO and RTO suppliers for various transactions.
  • Updates to metrics while working to improve and enhance processes with all available data.
  • Lead cost and service improvement initiatives as related to transportation and logistics processes.
  • Complete all assigned training on time.
  • Updates to Customs Brokers and Trade Management Providers SOP's, Work Instructions and Contact databases to ensure requirements and documents are standardized operating procedure to include all activities and services to effectively perform import clearance on behalf of J&J companies.
  • Ensure that new processes or changes are updated in work instructions, to include regulations, and opportunities for new capabilities.
  • Develop, monitor and execute process to secure and retain Powers-of-Attorney for customs business (Import / Export).
  • Develop, monitor and execute process to secure and retain Customs Bonds, to include Bond Saturation Reports, to ensure bond sufficiency
  • Monitor, report, and resolve Liquidated Damage Penalties to include response to US Customs, assignment of root cause, and corrective action.
  • Assist with management and tracking reviews of risk register, management action plans, and post summary corrections, protests and CBP28 / 29, to include maintenance of SOP's and / or Work Instructions
  • Assist with the development of Broker Invoice Audits and the monitoring of high duty / tariff billing

Qualifications

Education : Candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited College / University, pursuing a BA / BS

Experience and Skills : Required :

  • Collaboration and team building skills
  • Basic Statistics
  • Data Analytics (ability to work with large data sets)
  • Prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Power BI preferred
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Preferred :

  • Power BI & Alteryx experience a plus.
  • Other :

  • No hazardous working conditions.
  • Travel percentage No travel required except for occasional meetings locally in NJ area or trips to PA DC or Manufacturing sites.
