Our delivery drivers play a pivotal role in the nation's food supply chain. They ensure that customer products are delivered on time and in excellent condition while building strong relationships with our customers!
The Driver is tasked with operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on various routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and / or unload food and related products in a safe, timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities :
Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and teammates to ensure questions are answered accurately and promptly.Collaborate effectively as a team member and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.Conduct safety checks (pre / post trip) and ensure that vehicles and trailers meet DOT regulations and company safety standards.Report any safety issues or required repairs immediately.Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and practices.Inspections of trailers to ensure properly loaded and secured freight.Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products.Accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with deliveries.Move tractors to loading docks and attach preloaded trailers as needed.Drive safely to deliver customer orders according to the scheduled route.Unload products and transport them into designated customer storage areas.Perform damage control checks, scan items, and report issues according to company policy.Verify delivery with customers and obtain appropriate signatures.Collect payments (cash or checks) when necessary and secure trailer doors.Ensure all vehicles and freight are properly secured at all times.Unload damaged goods and customer returns as required, completing necessary paperwork.Maintain a daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.At the end of each shift, secure equipment and finalize all paper documentation.Carry out other related duties as assigned.Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent6+ months of commercial driving experienceValid CDL-A licenseMust be 21 years of age or olderMeet all state licensing and certification requirements (where applicable)Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 yearsPass post-offer drug test and criminal background checkPass road testAttain or possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to obtain a new oneAble to hand-lift and use equipment to handle products weighing from 10-90 pounds as requiredAbout Our Company
