Part Time | Evenings (4-8 : 30) & Weekend Shifts (10-6 : 15 / 11-5 : 15)

Play It Again Sports Madison is a locally owned and operated sporting goods store that specializes in selling gently used and new sports and fitness gear as well as services such as skate sharpening and ski / snowboard waxing. Not only do we sell gear, we also buy it from our customers - all day every day! If you are passionate about sports, are enthusiastic, a quick learner and have excellent customer service skills, you are encouraged to apply.

Hours :

We are looking for an associate to join our awesome team for occasional weeknights with heavy presence of weekend shifts this fall & winter with possibility of staying on for spring & summer.

Responsibilities :

Sales :  You will work with customers to assist them with their sports and fitness gear purchases. You will help them pick out appropriately sized gear for several sports and activities. Give recommendations when necessary and ensure customers have an exceptional experience shopping with us.

Buying :  You will become certified to purchase quality used gear from our customers. You will be trained on what to look for when purchasing used gear and how to price it. The timetable is at the discretion of managers.

Services :  You will get trained on skate sharpening and ski waxing and tuning. (Must be 18 to use the Blademaster Skate Sharpener). You will also help in building equipment, such as weight benches, treadmills and exercise bikes (if necessary). Possible opportunities may include : baseball / lacrosse restringing, glove break-in, golf regripping, etc.

• An aptitude for service work
• Preference towards following sports : hockey, downhill skis, snowboarding
• Familiarity with following sports : golf, baseball, lacrosse
• Loves working with families & elementary aged children
• Has prior retail experience with cash handling
• Highly dependable and will be available to work 15-30 hours / week this fall / winter.
• Must be able to lift heavy boxes / objects and stand for 8 hours

Compensation :

Hourly Rate will be Commensurate with Sales and / or Service Experience.
