Foley Eye Clinic is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to work in our practice. The right person must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment to ensure efficient and effective patient care. We would prefer the individual has a minimum of 2 years experience.

Work Schedule
This full-time position requires availability on Monday-Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM. This role will require assisting at both our Apple Valley and St. Paul locations.
Summary of Responsibilities :
The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily patient care and flow of clinic activities. Position requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care. Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage need. Ability to assess common safety hazards and take precautions to establish a safe work environment required. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers and manager is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time.
List of Responsibilities / Duties :
- Promptly and professionally assist the doctor in patient care
- Perform technical workups, patient histories and special testing
- Communicate with patients regarding follow up care, surgeries, procedures and changes in schedule
- Maintain and clean all equipment being used.
- Return phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner.
- Assist in minor surgery
- Efficiently and accurately interview patients and document history
- Accurately perform :
- Refractions with retinoscopy
- Lensometry
- Keratometry
- Tonometry
- Visual Fields
- Amslers
- Muscle Testing
- Pupil Exams
- Topography
- OCT
- IOL Master / Ascans
- Fundus Photos
- Contact Lens Fittings
- Scribes readily when doctor desires
Minimum Education Requirements :
High School Diploma or EquivalentSuccessful completion of JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician requirements.Minimum Background Requirements :
