Associate Attorney - Workers Comp
Established (25+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Workers' Compensation Defense in California (REMOTE)
An established firm based in California with over 25 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team remotely (only 10% onsite). This Attorney will have experience defending workers' compensation claims on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers across California.
Offer :
Salary ranges based on experience : 1-3 years = $100,000, 3-5 years = $150,000, 5-7 years = $200,000, 7-10 years = $210,000, 10+ years = $220,000

Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense
Juris Doctorate and active California Bar membership
Strong research, analytical, and negotiation skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Commitment to proactive case management
Ability to meet a billable requirement of 195 hours per month
Responsibilities :
Advocating on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers
Preparing correspondence to clients and drafting pleadings
Managing calendars and ensuring deadlines for client communication are met
Attending court appearances, hearings, depositions, and cross-examinations of doctors
Negotiating settlements and lien claims on workers' compensation files
Conducting legal research, drafting motions, and discovery
Proactively managing case files and inputting data into PracticeMaster and billing software
Mentoring and managing legal assistants
Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors
Attending marketing events and client file reviews
Conducting training seminars for clients on changing workers' compensation case law
Maintaining current knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and case law
All other duties or tasks, as needed
