Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Alcohol and Drug Treatment Specialist (ADTS) to provide substance use counseling and case management services to youth within a juvenile justice setting. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about supporting young individuals through structured recovery and rehabilitation programs. The position involves both individual and group counseling, completion of client intakes and assessments, and coordination of treatment placement upon program completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial screenings (BQUICK) and complete all required intake paperwork .
- Provide individual substance use counseling to assigned clients.
- Facilitate 1–3 group counseling sessions per week , depending on experience and comfort level.
- Complete ASAM assessments ; licensed clinicians will review and sign off.
- Assist in placement and referrals for youth transitioning to outpatient treatment programs.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and adhere to all confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Uphold strong professional boundaries when working with at-risk youth populations.
Case Load
Approximately 30 youth , primarily within group settings.Not all youth will require individual sessions; workload will balance between groups and one-on-one counseling.Qualifications
Required :
Certified or Registered Alcohol and Drug Treatment Specialist (CADTP or CCAPP).Ability to pass a background check and LiveScan clearance for work in a juvenile justice facility.Strong professional boundaries and the ability to work effectively with justice-involved youth.Preferred :
Bilingual in Spanish (strongly preferred but not required).Prior experience in substance use counseling, particularly within youth or justice settings.Eligible for ADTS III level placement based on experience and credentials.
