This is an hourly non-exempt position listed at $20.37 / hour.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Performs effective and efficient right-of-way clearing in a safe manner and according to the system's requirements as a vital part of the maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted electric service to the membership.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

A.   Reports to the Line Clearance Crew Foreman

B.   Directs : None

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates and maintains Right-of-Way equipment for ground and aerial trimming and uses pesticides to control weeds and woody plants for right-of-way control.
• Clears Right-of-Way to REA Specifications.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

ON THE JOB TRAINING

Provides employees with an overall exposure to equipment used and REA Specifications so the employee can move to Line Clearance Technician I or other positions of increasing responsibility.

Trains when Jones-Onslow EMC provides schools.

Documentation for promotion to Line Clearance Technician I will be based upon Performance Reviews and Merit Evaluations and a recommendation from the Foreman.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal working conditions outside of office building.  Regular working hours are from 6 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM Monday through Thursday, except company observed holidays.
