Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the dentist and general manager to guide and train the Registered Dental Assistants.
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment for each patient, preparing them for use during procedures.
- Inquire about patients' medical histories and document this information for the dentist’s reference, while also advising on effective dental care.
- Make patients feel comfortable throughout their appointments by providing reassurance and support.
- Take x-rays and impressions of patients’ teeth, and fabricate temporary crowns as needed.
- Assist the dentist by preparing necessary materials such as cements and composites for procedures.
- Maintain patient comfort during procedures by using suction and swabs, and apply topical anesthetics as required.
- Manage dental records and complete charting accurately.
- Implement infection control management according to CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines to ensure patient safety.
- Offer assistance in various clinic areas as needed.
- Engage in community outreach efforts by participating in local events and distributing promotional materials.
- Oversee inventory control and manage supplies efficiently.
- Apply dental sealants and monitor patients under nitrous after completing necessary certifications.
