Description :

Position Description :

Under the general supervision of the Clienttion Oncology Director, the Staff Therapist performs a variety of technical procedures in order to apply ionizing radiation for tumor localization radiography.

The Staff Therapist applies therapeutic doses of radiation for the treatment of disease or injury.

The position involves working with terminally ill patients and their families on a continuing basis.

The Staff Therapist must work under pressure of time and accuracy, with interruptions not uncommon.

Making decisions regarding the seriousness of patients' conditions and reporting unusual conditions and / or reactions to the Clienttion Oncologist is required.

Demonstrating organizational ability using time and equipment wisely to achieve smooth patient flow is essential.

The type of equipment used includes Trilogy and TRUEBEAM, as well as Large bore simulation.

Minimal call is required, with no weekend shifts.

Dress code includes light gray pants and turquoise scrub tops.

The department treats an average of 55 to 70 patients per day.
