Overview
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support a federal program out of Tysons, VA. This role involves designing and developing integrated electronic security systems including CCTV, video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. Must have an Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical layouts and schematics for security systems in commercial, industrial, and government facilities
- Collaborate with security consultants, project managers, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with industry standards
- Specify and integrate components from vendors such as Lenel, Bosch, AMAG, Milestone, etc.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions
- Prepare technical documentation including bill of materials (BOM), wiring diagrams, and installation instructions
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, UL, etc.) and client specifications
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting of installed systems
