Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Rugby, ND 58368 (North Dakota travel nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Med / Surg Unit

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (October 20, 2025 – January 19, 2026)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shifts : 12-hour rotating shifts (days / nights), including weekends and holidays

Unit Size : 18 beds (staffing for up to 10 beds)

Patient Ratios : Typically 1 : 6 or less

Charting System : Epic EMR

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860 - $2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or compact state (required for travel RN jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

BLS certification (required)

ACLS and NIH Stroke Education (preferred)

IV therapy experience (required)

Ability to interpret cardiac strips (Phillips monitors)

Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records (preferred)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses, including pneumonia, post-op, UTI, rehab, pain management, fractures, and dementia

Administer medications and IV therapies, including titrating drips (e.g., Cardizem)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and telemedicine providers

Support the ER as backup RN when needed

Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and educate patients on respiratory treatments

Document all care accurately in Epic EMR

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
