Unit Post-Partum # L&D Beds-10 beds - 2 OR's in L&D # triage beds-2 beds # Postpartum beds-18 beds Requirements-2 years of prior experience in PP, would prefer prior travel # births per day, per year -130 births per month with approximately 40-60 c-sections a month Certs- ACLS, BLS, NRP Ratios- 4 : 1 couplets EMR -Cerner Charge Nurse-Yes- shared between L&D and PP Nurse Aides / OB tech- None Weekend Requirement- 4 shifts in a 4 week period Call Requirement- None Holidays- 1 major, 1 minor for RN Major : Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years day Scrub Color-Provided Tele None- will tx out, have 30 minute response time Vents- None OB / Neonataologist in house- None- currently working on it IV Team- None RT 24 / 7- Yes Pharmacy 24 / 7-Yes Shifts-12 hr shifts, 0645-1915, 1845-0715 Floating- Not unless NICU background for feeder / grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangable Floor specific orientation- 2 Shifts Common diagnosis / Types of patients- Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN , they try to transfer out if there is a known cardiac baby abnormality prior to delivery. They do have perinatology support
