Position Summary
The DSP Team Leader plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality supports and smooth day-to-day operations within residential programs. This position serves as a mentor to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure that each individual supported receives compassionate, person-centered care consistent with BrightPaths mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in residential programs, promoting independence and community inclusion.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for DSP staff, assisting with training, onboarding, and daily guidance.
- Support Program Manager in ensuring staffing schedules are maintained and shifts are covered.
- Monitor documentation for accuracy and compliance, including daily notes, incident reports, and medication records.
- Communicate effectively with team members, Program Manager, and clinical staff regarding individual needs and progress.
- Assist with implementation of ISPs (Individual Support Plans) and behavior support strategies.
- Ensure adherence to all BrightPath policies, ODP 6400 regulations, and health / safety standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations or emergency coverage as assigned.
- Support a positive, team-oriented culture within the home and organization.
Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 1 year of experience as a Direct Support Professional or equivalent role in human services.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide and support a team.Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation required.Ability to complete and maintain all ODP-required trainings and clearances.Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Compensation & Benefits
