Overview

Position : Construction Project Manager

Duration : 6-month contract to hire

Location : Ann Arbor, MI area (on-site a few times per week; rest of the time may be work from home)

Insight Global's largest Building Automation client is looking for a Project Manager to join their Commercial HVAC Installation team. The Project Manager will meet customers and team members (engineers, Project Managers, Technicians, etc.) on site a few times a week to check on / oversee projects and can work from home the rest of the time. This person will oversee several projects at a time within Ann Arbor and neighboring towns.

Base pay range

$40.00 / hr - $45.00 / hr

Qualifications

  • Commercial and / or industrial construction project management experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, or electrical systems
  • Strong communication with customers, vendors and internal staff (such as engineer, technicians, procurement, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

Responsibilities

  • Develops project schedules and executes according to plan
  • Manages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials
  • Acts as the primary internal leader for execution teams on assigned projects; interfaces with various teams and provides direction (internal & external) as needed to successfully execute the project
  • Analyzes financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems
  • Reviews contract terms and conditions; negotiates, prepares and issues subcontracts
  • Generates purchase orders; manages costs, billings and collections
  • Attends job progress meetings as required; ensures subcontractors understand expectations
  • Ensures work complies with state, local and Federal requirements and that staff and subcontractors adhere to safety standards
  • Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques
  • Coordinates with the HVAC Sales & Operations Managers, Construction Management Services and HVAC Installation Manager, Systems Team Leader, Service Operations Manager and / or Branch Mechanical Project Team Leader to allocate resources needed to meet project objectives
