Pediatrics Physician

Pediatric Hospitalist opening in Sioux City, Iowa Located on Tri-State border of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota Position Details :

• Full-time, permanent position

• Established practice

• Pediatric Subspecialty Support : Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Infectious Disease, Neonatology.
• Other support : General Surgery, Orthopedics and many other subspecialties available for consultation
• 12-bed pediatric inpatient unit with brand-new remodel
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
• Average daily census of 5-7 in summer and 7-10 in winter (combination of newborn nursery and inpatient)
• Round on unassigned newborns in newborn nursery (no NICU or Level 2 nursery responsibilities), circumcisions, ED and direct admissions of pediatric age patients, ED consultation when requested
• No delivery attendance required. High risk deliveries are attended by in house NICU.
• Tertiary hospitals located 90 miles North and South with visiting subspecialists
• Average 10 shifts per month in 3-4 day increments with balanced weekend and holiday coverage
• In-house hours from 7 : 30 a.m. 5 p.m. On-call taken on a 1 : 3 rotation 3-4 shifts at a time with in-house Family Practice Resident coverage.
• Flexibility in schedule exists within group
• Opportunities for QI initiatives, hospital committee involvement and advanced Epic certifications if desired
