About The Position

Job Title : Certified Surgical Technician

Profession : CST / ORT

Specialty : OR

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 14 : 30 - 23 : 00

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : One or more years experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or an instrument care environment preferred.

License : BLS certification required.

Certifications : Surgical Tech certification required.

Must-Have : Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment.

Description :

An integral member of the surgical team who provides support for surgeons throughout the operation.

Responsibilities include preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.

Education required includes a high school diploma or equivalent.

Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology is preferred.

Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures is necessary.

Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English is required.

Employee will be instructed in Universal Precautions and the Right to Know.

Employee will be expected to utilize all protective equipment available whenever there is a potential for exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals.

Cleaning, repair, and replacement of this protective equipment will be provided.

Position requires heavy physical effort requiring standing, walking, or lifting most of the day.

Requires ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbal and written materials.
