Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Specialist
Job Description
The University of Kentucky is seeking BC / BE physicians to join our team of academic clinical professionals. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on osteopathic manipulative medicine.
Common procedures include myofascial release, soft tissue techniques and articulation which involve muscle stretching, pressure, and gentle force to improve motion, ease pain, and restore tissues to a healthier state. Other techniques like High-Velocity Low-Amplitude (HVLA) thrusts for joint manipulation and Craniosacral therapy for the head and back are also used, depending on a patient's specific symptoms and needs.
Responsibilities include providing outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation services as well as clinical teaching of residents, fellows and medical students. Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be board certified or board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or another specialty and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in Clinical Care and Education.

About the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The University of Kentucky Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is expanding! Our faculty has grown exponentially over the last five years as we have added services and new practice locations. We have an ACGME-accredited Brain Injury fellowship and our four-year residency program with twenty-eight learners is one of the best in the nation.
Our department emphasizes collegiality and flexibility. We promote faculty career development. We offer a full complement of advanced clinical services on adults and children and have a large inpatient acute rehabilitation presence in Lexington in addition to a newly renovated 27-room physician clinic. Our faculty perform procedures including chemo denervation injections, intrathecal drug system management, peripheral joint injections, EMG / NCS studies, ultrasound evaluations, peripheral nerve blocks, peripheral nerve stimulation and cryoneurolysis.
