Heavy Equipment Operator
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to support the construction and ongoing maintenance of access roads for an environmental project. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy machinery in rugged terrain and a strong understanding of grading, drainage, and erosion control techniques.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and compactors to build and maintain access roads.
- Clear vegetation, level terrain, and install drainage systems to ensure safe and durable roadways.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Follow project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Monitor road conditions and perform repairs as needed, including grading, filling potholes, and reinforcing shoulders.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to meet project timelines.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, equipment usage, and material quantities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize impact to surrounding areas.
Essential Skills

Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions with potential for overtime depending on the weather. The role involves working in remote locations and requires a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
This is a Contract position based out of Belle Glade, Florida.
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 / hr.
