Accounting Sr. Manager (Corporate Accounting)

Location : Melville, NY (Onsite, 5 days / week)

Employment Type : Full-time

About the Role

We are building a corporate accounting function and seeking an Accounting Manager to own consolidations, financial statement preparation, footnotes, and audit coordination. This leader will standardize and run the monthly global close, drive analytics and mapping integrity, and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors (PBC coordination). The ideal hire blends Big 4 / Big 8 technical rigor with private-company, hands-on consolidation and close experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly global close : calendars, task ownership, review controls, and worldwide alignment.
  • Own consolidations and US GAAP financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flows) including footnote drafting.
  • Act as audit lead : manage PBC lists, route requests to internal teams, review support, and resolve issues.
  • Author technical accounting memos and policies; monitor new accounting literature and drive adoption.
  • Ensure accuracy of account mapping and financial analytics; produce monthly reporting packages.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Finance, IT, HR, Ops) to improve processes and close efficiency.
  • Oversee accounting for acquisitions, goodwill, intangibles, capitalized software, and other corporate areas.
  • Mentor and direct a Senior Accountant; help shape the growing corporate accounting team.

Qualifications

  • CPA required.
  • 7–12+ years total experience combining public accounting (Big 4 / Big 8) and private corporate accounting.
  • Demonstrated ownership of consolidations, external reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Strong technical accounting acumen and memo / policy writing experience.
  • NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to implement close calendars, strengthen controls, and deliver audit-ready financials.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management (able to work with management through executive levels).

  • PE-backed environment experience.
  • Standing up a new billing system or ERP / reporting toolset.
  • Experience building scalable reporting out of NetSuite and related tools.
