TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel CVU RN - Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - EMR EPIC Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 4, 1 : 3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours - Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS - Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. Unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR and any other cardiac and vascular related diagnosis. - Experience or 'Must have' skills : 1 year of experience with this patient population - Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes - Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes - rare to take assignment - Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18 - Hospitalist & / or Intensivist in house 24 / 7? In the ICU 24 / 7? : Yes hospitalist and intensivist in house with Cardiology on call after hours - RT in ICU 24 / 7? : Yes - RT Equipment? Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : BiPAP, CPAP, to Nasal Cannula - Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : Remote tele techs, tele hardwired and tele box capabilities. RNs must read and interpret. - Shifts & Scheduling : 0630-1900, 1830-0700; Manager does schedule, no block or self-scheduling - Weekend Requirements : Every other - Is there a call or standby requirement? : N / A - Floating Requirements : Will float to all same level and lower levels of acuity - Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity. Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
