Overview
Job Overview : Responsible for all of the robots in the body shop. Monitors the factory's performance, manage & allocate manpower and strengthen and develop the organization's production & planning structure. Develops, implants, and improves complex manufacturing production processes and methods.
Responsibilities
- Support with training of maintenance and production employees
- Update technology packages as well as Kuka Software system updates
- Develops best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability
- Manage the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Investigates problems, analyzes root causes and derives resolutions using the 8D Problem Solving Process
- Develops operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
- Participates in budget preparation and monitors expenses and profitability
- Writes spec books; requests and evaluation of supplier quotations
- Designs, documents, and implements medium to large-scale manufacturing processes; determines feasibility of product changes
- Utilizes system analysis of production methods / procedures and process automations for continued growth improvements
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Evaluates current production activities and drives improvements
- Periodically ensures that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards
- Implements cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
- Contributes to product and process quality design testing methods
- Develops planning standards, methods, and procedures
- Plans workplaces considering ergonomics
- Stays current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes
- Provides guidance to team members to accomplish production goals; mentors and provides guidance to less senior manufacturing engineers
- May act as deputy for Production Manager
- Proposes and manages medium-scale projects from beginning to end; may scope and manage large capital investment projects (>
$5M)

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree requiredOver 5 years of relevant experience required, strongly preferring Body in White including experience such as :Experience with Kuka KRC robotic is a plusHands-on Programming experience in booth or work cellPLC experience such as Siemens S7 is a plusHands-on experience in off-line simulationsKnowledge of joining technologies such Mig / Mag, spot, and laser welding, and gluing a plusExperience in dimensional accuracy desired3D-CAD experience such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NXHands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer controlled systemsHands-on experience with process devices (motor drives, sensors, AC / DC converters, encoders, lifts, conveyors, etc.)6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degreeKnowledge of manufacturing methods / procedures and process technologyAble to present complex technical information related to achieving goals of the departmentAble to influence team members at all levels of the organizationProven written and verbal communication with good negotiation skillsAble to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutionsProven design & implementation of Continuous Improvement themes with savingsKnowledge of value stream mapping to reduce waste and improve output in a production environmentExperience in process layout and optimization incorporating asset utilizationBackground in manpower distribution based on production and efficiency targetsAble to troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques, & assist if needed for root cause analysisAbility to read & create blueprints and schematicsBenefits
