General Summary

Paving Equipment Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of paving equipment and machinery, including but not limited to screed, roller, paver, steel roller, pneumatic roller, shuttle buggy.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Operate equipment / machines that spread, smooth, compact, and level asphalt on sub-grade and milled surfaces of highways, roadways, parking lots, and related surfaces.
• Maintain and make operating adjustments to equipment / machinery as needed.
• Observe distribution of paving material and adjust as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site.
• May assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
• Other duties as assigned.
