An Optometric Technician is a valuable asset to an optometrist, assisting in providing a world class Total Patient Experience. This role handles a wide range of duties using optical equipment to perform initial testing to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist.
Responsibilities
- Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- Practice urgency at all times, valuing the patient's time and the doctor's schedule
- Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor / keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT
- Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
- Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
- Interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, patient-focused work environment
- Commit to work hours that meet business needs, which may include weekends, schedule changes or extended schedules
Qualifications
Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferredMinimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers / patients or equivalent education / experienceFavorable result on background check as required by stateMust be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United StatesEducation And / Or Experience
High school diploma or GED requiredLicense And Credentials
