Summary This position reports to the Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety and the General Manager and will provide customer service to the Winston-Salem location. The primary job responsibilities will be safety program compliance with OSHA and General Contractors, and customers’ requirements for the Raleigh office and commercial departments. A Safety Manager focuses on the implementation of programs that identify and reduce employee exposure to workplace hazards. Provides directions to front line supervisors in establishing and maintaining the safety culture that Baker Roofing Company has in place. Aids operations management in achieving safety goals and objectives as well as regulatory compliance. As appropriate, interacts with external agencies as the department deems necessary. The safety professional is a vital part of risk management in the organization and has supportive duties such as investigation and remediation from insurance claims. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential Functions
Ensure treatment for injured employees (at times this means being at the clinic and or aiding with transportation)
Conduct initial drug screening
Ensure cards and certificates are created and records entered into Industry Safe for tracking
Formal training (off site)
Inspection Report written up and sent to appropriate individuals within 24 business hours. Inspections are sent to appropriate distribution groups
Field incidents and injuries GL claims (including all leaks)
Customer Meetings
OSHA – 1910 and 1926
Activity Hazard Analysis for base work
Focused inspections on trucks at the jobsite and regularly while in the yard
Coordinate vehicle maintenance
Physical Demands
