Overview

Senior Principal Software Engineer - Media Services role at Oracle. This position involves owning core technical components and services, guiding the engineering team, and leading the development of cloud services that enable streaming providers to move their workloads to OCI. The work covers playback, content augmentation, video transcoding and packaging, content delivery, streaming analytics, and flexible billing & cost analytics.

Responsibilities

• Research in state of the art of specific technical focus areas.
• Cloud service architecture, micro-service design, scalability, observability and availability provisions.
• Design and implementation of services and their component micro-services.
• Collaborate within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services that enable streaming providers to shift their workloads to OCI.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
• Launching new cloud services and establishing operational excellence.
• Lead implementation to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team.
• Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing best talent.
• Establishing and stimulating software development standards and processes along with best practices for the entire org.
• Defining OKRs and KPIs to inform decision making and prioritization.

Salary range information is provided for the stated locations : US : Hiring Range in USD from $96,800 to $251,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations.
