Kennel Technician Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Provide compassionate care for pets
  • Clean cages, runs and boarding area
  • Exercise hospitalized / boarded dogs as needed
  • Feed and provide fresh water and bedding to hospitalized / boarded pets as needed
  • Monitor record and report physical signs of hospitalized / boarded pets
  • Bathe pets, clean ears and trim nails
  • Do laundry
  • Wash and sanitize pet dishes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Kennel Technician Qualifications and Skills :

  • MUST love working with animals.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with moderately high noise level.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be a reliable team player with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and must have a great work ethic.
  • Must maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients.
  • Enjoys working closely with other team members
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English
  • Enjoy working hard; is action orientated and full of energy for the things he / she sees as challenging
  • Team player that is cooperative
