About the role : The Associate Director, TCAR Training and Development will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous evolution of clinical and commercial training for Boston Scientific's TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) program. This role is pivotal in building a best-in-class field organization through innovative training programs that drive clinical excellence, sales effectiveness, and leadership development.
This position will oversee a high-performing team of instructors, coordinators, and training specialists responsible for delivering scalable, impactful learning experiences across multiple modalities. By partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and other cross-functional teams, the Associate Director will ensure training initiatives align with business priorities and accelerate performance across the TCAR portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include :
Training strategy and execution
- Design and implement training programs focused on clinical knowledge, procedural competency, selling skills, and leadership development
- Oversee classroom and field-based training delivery for TCAR technologies and future product launches
- Continuously evaluate and optimize training programs for relevance, effectiveness, and scalability
- Lead planning and execution of major training events, including National Sales Meetings and Regional Conferences
Team leadership and development
Manage, coach, and develop a team of subject matter experts, instructors, and support staffFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learningEnsure team capabilities evolve in alignment with business and market needsCross-functional collaboration
Partner with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Sales Operations to align training with strategic goalsCustomize training to meet franchise-specific needs while leveraging best practices for consistencyCommunicate key initiatives and training impact to executive leadershipInnovation and delivery
Integrate diverse training modalities (live, virtual, hybrid, LMS) to meet the evolving needs of a national field organizationDrive learner engagement and retention through modern, creative training approachesUse data and analytics to assess and improve training effectivenessProgram ownership
Lead Initial Sales Training for new hires, ensuring clinical and commercial readinessAdvance leadership development initiatives and embed them across the TCAR divisionSupport ongoing sales development through continuous learning journeysOversee strategic utilization of surgical labs and training centersPhysician and industry relationships
Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with physicians, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and external experts to enhance educational initiatives, clinical collaboration, and thought leadershipEngage with professional associations and medical communities to ensure alignment with evolving standards and best practices in content deliveryContribute to the development of the next generation of KOLs through targeted engagement and mentorshipAdministrative, compliance, and budget oversight
Lead the development and management of departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fiscal accountabilityOversee project planning and execution, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational timelinesCollaborate cross-functionally to implement governance frameworks that support transparency, risk mitigation, and continuous improvementBudget and resource management
Manage departmental budget and allocate resources efficientlyDevelop annual operating plans aligned with divisional goalsDemonstrate ROI from training activities through performance metrics and stakeholder feedbackQualifications :
Required qualifications :
Bachelor's degreeMinimum of 8 years' experience in clinical training, sales training, or commercial development within medical devices or healthcareMinimum of 2 years' experience in direct people managementProven success designing and implementing large-scale training programsStrong clinical acumen, preferably in vascular or electrophysiology domainsExpertise in adult learning principles and modern sales methodologiesStrategic mindset with the ability to link training outcomes to business goalsExcellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder influence skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and LMS platformsPreferred qualifications :
Experience with TCAR or vascular intervention technologiesPrior leadership of high-performing training teamsFamiliarity with CRM systems and digital learning toolsExperience supporting national field teams and high-impact eventsTravel requirements : This is a remote role with 6075% overnight travel to training centers, regional programs, and off-site meetings.
