Executive Director Of Continuing Education

Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all non-credit workforce, professional, and personal development programs across the college district. Responsible for the overall management, growth, and financial sustainability of the Continuing Education division, ensuring its alignment with the college's mission and the economic needs of the community. The executive director oversees all continuing education program areas, including curriculum development, marketing, enrollment management, budget administration, and staff supervision. This position reports directly to the associate vice president for continuing education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Drive program innovation by identifying new and emerging industry trends and creating responsive non-credit courses, programs, and certificates.
  • Plan and execute programming and course offerings to align with current state funding model.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including local businesses, industry leaders, and non-profit organizations, to foster strategic partnerships.
  • Direct and manage the comprehensive operations of the Continuing Education division, including all program managers, directors, and administrative staff.
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for the division's budget, including the development, monitoring, and maintenance of all program operation budgets to ensure financial solvency and growth.
  • Oversee the development of marketing and recruitment strategies to increase enrollment and community engagement.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all programs, courses, and certifications in alignment with state, federal, and college policies.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all Continuing Education staff, providing mentorship and leadership to foster a high-performing team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Continuing Education division and external partners, representing the college at key community events, meetings, and on advisory boards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other college departments and divisions, including Academic Affairs, Student Services, and Communications department to ensure seamless integration and support for non-credit programs.
  • Coordinate with credit programming to establish clear pathways and stackable credentials for students, supporting a seamless transition between non-credit and credit courses.

Supplemental Functions :

Perform other duties as assigned. Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and Core Values.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort :

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and / or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a higher education or a continuing education setting.

Proven experience in budget management, strategic planning, and program development.

Preferred :

Master's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Compensation Type : Salary

    Employment Type : Full time

    Hiring Minimum : $101,890.00

    Hiring Maximum : $122,268.00

    Compensation is determined based on experience.
