Job Summary :

The Laboratory Technician performs laboratory analyses on in-process and finished product samples to ensure conformance to quality and purity specifications. This role involves collecting and delivering samples throughout the plant, analyzing results in a fast-paced environment, and communicating deviations to Operations to maintain production of in-spec materials. The technician will also ensure laboratory and equipment readiness, maintain cleanliness, manage sample inventory, and collaborate closely with fellow technicians during shift changes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collect and deliver samples throughout the plant to the Central Analytical Lab.
• Perform laboratory tests and record results accurately using computerized data systems.
• Analyze results promptly and report deviations to Operations.
• Review and interpret shift notes and add relevant lab findings.
• Ensure Critical Control Point equipment is functioning properly; perform frequent checks on packaging lines.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and track inventory of product ingredients.
• Conduct inspections and swab tests during production line cleaning procedures.
• Communicate findings with Operations, Sanitation, and Quality teams to ensure proper cleaning verification.
• Record swab results and maintain documentation for cleaning processes.
• Follow and enforce all safety, GMP, and HACCP protocols.
• Handle chemicals safely as per Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Verify lab instruments daily and maintain testing supplies.
• Maintain sample retention for test verification when needed.

Required Skills :

Education :

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate’s Degree in Applied Science preferred.

Preferred Skills :

Previous experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
