Med / Surg RN Job Details – Peoria, IL Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois healthcare jobs) Unit : Surgical Acute Unit (Medical / Surgical) Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 9, 2026 Contract Length : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), 3 shifts / week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend & holiday Charting System : EPIC Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990 - $2130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience Strong post-operative care, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills Excellent bedside manner and teamwork abilities Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (Drug-Free Campus) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, and medical overflow patients Perform wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, and manage drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals Monitor patients on telemetry (no strip reading required) Float to similar Med / Surg units as needed Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development Work in a state-of-the-art, 63-bed Med / Surg unit with supportive leadership and a collaborative team.
