The Fellow provides scientific and technical leadership and analytical support to advance growth goals, possesses campaign execution and networking skills, and interfaces with senior leaders and technologists across the company and customer community.
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector Strategic Deterrent Systems Division seeks an NG Fellow 1 SDS GN&C who will lead technological strategy for GN&C in this skill area, supporting the broader organization. The position will be located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer relocation assistance. General responsibilities may include but are not limited to : providing technical leadership and direction on GN&C for the Sentinel ICBM and developing GN&C development and maturation strategy for SDS. This position reports directly to the Office of the Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities
- The individual will provide technical leadership and direction on Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) for the Sentinel ICBM, and develop GN&C development and maturation strategy for SDS.
- Lead and set strategy for GN&C initiatives; interface with senior leaders and technologists across the company and customer community.
- Serve as a consultant to leadership on program-wide planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements.
Leadership Skills

Experience in development, testing, and fielding flight-critical systems.Experience in design and development of flight control algorithms / feedback control systems.Experience in developing requirements and verification plans, and negotiations with customer and user communities.Proficiency in architecture and requirements for hard real-time systems.Experience with Agile, MBSE, DOORS, Cameo EA, and related tools.Proficiency with airworthiness certification criteria (e.g. MIL-HDBK-516C, RTCA DO-178C, DO-254) and nuclear surety standards (e.g. AFMAN 91-119).Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 20+ years of related experience; 18+ years with a Masters; 15+ years with a PhD.Detailed understanding of GN&C systems.Able to lead a diverse, positive team environment and drive execution in support of leadership direction.Demonstrated experience leading design, development, and validation of GN&C systems integrating hardware, software, and algorithms.Able to apply highly advanced technologies towards successful program execution; demonstrated ingenuity and resourcefulness.Effective communication at the highest levels; recognized as an expert within the corporation.Develops plans and recommends technical approaches to accomplish program requirements; supports long-range strategic goals.Serves as a consultant to leadership on program-wide planning for technological research.Active DoD Secret clearance with reinvestigation within the last 6 years and ability to obtain SAP; travel up to 25%.Preferred Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Aerospace / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.Active Top-Secret Security Clearance.Experience in development, testing, certification, and fielding of complex aerospace systems.Proficiency in architectures and requirements for hard real-time systems; experience with flight control algorithms.Full life cycle software development for hard real-time systems; automatic code generation and certification.Independent issue resolution across development, implementation, and support of GN&C systems; CAM experience in planning and delivering technical capability with cost and schedule management.Primary Level Salary Range : $183,800.00 - $275,800.00
The above salary range is a general guideline; final offers consider scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, bonuses, and Long Term Incentives may apply depending on position.
