R&D Test Engineer (Design Verification) - Only W2

Environment : This position is reporting into the R&D group at our client and requires someone with an R&D Test Engineering background. This person will be responsible for leading development of test methodology and test plan development for design verification. Specifically, this focuses on hardware (and some software) design verification and validation testing for a medical device, including improvements to test protocols and execution. This person will also lead test technicians in executing test protocols as well as documenting test fixtures and writing protocols / reports.

Responsibilities

This role will involve leading the design verification testing of their device using oscilloscopes, debugger software tools, DVM, and data acquisition software. There are also predefined test protocols that may need to be updated or authored from scratch. In addition, defining the test strategy and leading execution of testing. This person will also be responsible for providing hardware / software technical support for remediation activities, as needed. Because this is supporting a warning letter remediation, the project will be fast paced and requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision.

• Lead design verification & validation test methodology and plan development.
• Write and execute test procedures / protocols and generate reports.
• Document deviations that occur during testing.
• Chair cross functional reviews for protocols, test reports, and deviations.
• Evaluate requirements for testability.
• Provide statistically sound rationale for sample size.
• Advise and support improvements to verification and validation procedures and tools.
• Give technical guidance to test technicians in documenting test fixtures, and writing protocols.
