A prestigious middle-market investment bank with a distinguished track record in technology transactions is seeking an experienced M&A professional to join their Software and Fintech M&A team in New York City. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-performing team that advises leading software and fintech companies on mission-critical strategic transactions.

Our client has built a reputation for executing complex, high-value transactions in the rapidly evolving technology and financial services landscape, working with innovative companies ranging from emerging growth businesses to established market leaders.

The Role

As a member of the Software / Fintech M&A team, you will play a critical role in executing sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements. This position offers significant responsibility and direct client exposure from day one.

  • A2A (Analyst to Associate)
  • Associate 2

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of M&A transactions from inception through closing
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, valuation modeling, and due diligence
  • Prepare marketing materials, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
  • Manage transaction processes including buyer / seller outreach, negotiations, and coordination with legal and accounting advisors
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with C-suite executives
  • Mentor and guide junior team members
  • Contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives

    • Required Qualifications

  • Transaction Experience : 2-3 closed software and / or fintech M&A transactions with demonstrated success
  • Industry Tenure : Minimum 1 year of relevant M&A experience, ideally within technology-focused investment banking or corporate development
  • Technical Skills : Advanced financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), and Excel proficiency
  • Analytical Capabilities : Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly
  • Work Style : Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Availability : Immediate or near-term availability strongly preferred

  • Experience working with middle-market companies ($100M-$1B+ in enterprise value)
