Quality Inspector – Gray Court, SC

Hours :   6am-4 : 30pom (Monday – Thursday); MUST be able to work overtime when needed; some Friday’s are mandatory

Pay :   $28 / $32 (Depends on Experience)

Position Summary

This position is a critical role that ensures quality and compliance of incoming parts used in the assembly of high voltage vacuum circuit breakers. This position also involves hands-on inspection using precision measurement tools, documentation of non-conformances, and collaboration across

departments to support continuous improvement and quality assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Complete all assigned tasks within the Quality department.
• Inspect incoming parts and materials to verify conformance to engineering drawings and specifications using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Document and report non-conformances in accordance with internal procedures.
• Initiate and track Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as needed.
• Perform trend analysis on supplier quality performance and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive improvements.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing team to manage the return of defective materials and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 quality management procedures and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Assist in internal audits and support audit readiness efforts.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions for inspection processes.
• Ensure accurate completion of SAP transactions to maintain reliable inventory records.
• ISO Audit Support : Assist in driving action items to completion across all departments to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 & 14001 standard. This will include internal audits of all departments.
• Support for Supplier Quality Improvement : Assist in the management and improvement of supplier quality standards. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood and met and follow up with documented corrective actions when these requirements are not met.
• Auditing Internal Procedures : Conduct regular audits of quality management system processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Supporting Internal Quality Improvement Projects : Work closely with the quality manager to support projects aimed at improving product quality and operational efficiency.
• Successfully complete all required training as assigned.
• Safely operate the necessary equipment to carry out assigned tasks.
• Take ownership of personal development.
• Support other departments as needed.
