Summary :
A Paramedic is accountable for responding to all assigned calls and providing advanced life support care to patients within their scope of practice and standing orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assess and treat patients using appropriate techniques, equipment, and clinical judgment, while adhering to established protocols and maintaining the highest standard of ALS care
- Operate emergency vehicles safely and within regulations.
- Document activities regarding patient care and billing completely and accurately to ensure appropriate information is available regarding each call
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare professionals, and other emergency personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend and complete all required continuing education (CE) or training assignments on a monthly basis
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Participate in community outreach programs and public education eventsPerforms other such duties as may be required.Assist in the training and orientation of new hires or students.Serve as a liaison for special events requiring standby EMS coverage.Education and Certification Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalentCurrent EMT-P certification (state and / or national)Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with TRAA policy.Current CPR Certification (AHA or equivalent)ACLS, AMLS, PHTLS, and PEPP (or equivalent)AAS preferred, but not requiredPhysical Requirements :
Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility TestAble to frequently lift and / or carry weights exceeding 100 pounds.Working Environment :
Works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood / body fluidsPreforms duties and responsibilities within confined and mobile spaces
